Civil Venues

For a civil marriage, you should make arrangements well in advance with the local Registrar on 01770 600338 to discuss your plans. The local council approve places where civil marriages can be conducted by Registrars. On Arran, North Ayrshire Council has approved five unique venues in addition to the Registry Office in Lamlash which has stunning views across Lamlash Bay to the Holy Isle. We have provided a list of the approved venues below to help you with planning your special day. If you have somewhere else in mind, the local council can grant temporary approval for a single occasion. You should contact staff at the District Court in Irvine on 01294 311998 who will advise you about the application procedure and fees if you wish to do this.
